ECD Graduation Day-Class of 2014

The bright new day was met by anxious yet excited little faces being a day they had waited for all year long .The Fluorspar Pre- Unit graduation it was! This auspicious occasion was celebrated on 31st October,2014. To grace the occasion was Madam Winnie Kibisach, an ECD Lecturer and DICECE Officer in Eldoret East District.

‘We have a big school, we have good teachers, we have a big toy room and there at the Dojo, we love Taekwondo…six corner block Sir! ’went the angelic sweet voices as they recited their poem. Besides the poems the nursery pupils treated the guests to song , a kalenjin folk dance the main theme being, gratitude to all who have touched their lives propelling them to where they are. A western dance choreographed by their teacher wrapped the entertainment session.’ Through music you can reach anybody, so they say.

Soon the scouts led the jubilant pupils to the graduation square escorted by their teachers and parents and one by one they took to the graduation podium, standing tall with satisfaction of their achievement .Here they were all awarded a certificate by the Guest of Honour and adorned with garlands and congratulatory cards by the MD ,the CFO the Human Resource Manager . Their parents were not left behind either.

The message from the MD being that the Kenya Fluorspar Company is committed to giving quality and affordable education and an opportunity to children in the community noting that the new toy room was the latest addition.

The Guest of Honour hailed the KFC Management for investing in education particularly at this formative level . She noted that the children’s play room makes learning diverse, captivating and child centered. She emphasized that children need attention from parents and it has to be granted. Her message to parents in relation to learning can be summarized by a quote by Emily Buchwald, ‘Children are made readers on the laps of their parents.’

Climaxing the events of the day was the cake cutting session during and after which both jubilant teachers and parents put their best foot forward in song and dance in celebration. Well done the class of 2014!
